Making violin bows is clearly a very delicate and difficult process. The reporter showed this by having many, many
close up shots of all the little details that go into making each bow – it sort
of felt like you were the bow maker, meticulously inspecting each one to see
how it’s coming along. The many tight
shots of the bow maker’s face also made it seem like a very personal story – you
could see the emotions and almost an inner peace he seemed to have while making
bows. I do think it would have been nice to have one or two wider shots to set
the scene of the workshop.
I agree with you that this seems like a very personal story. I could also see the emotions that were displayed in this story. There were many close up shots in the video. I also think there should have been a couple more wider shots of the workshop. Overall, there was great detail and close ups that really added to the video.
ReplyDeleteI like how you said that all of the close up shots made you feel like the bow maker. I never really thought about how close up shots can do that, but I do agree with you. In addition, I also agree with you that it would have been nice to have a few wider shots because I felt like there was a lot of close up shots in both of the stories.
